At Lesson Beat, your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding your data.
We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, such as your name, email address, and phone number. For teachers, we also collect business information including studio name, address, and teaching specialties. For students, we may collect contact information for both the student and their parent or guardian where applicable.
We use the information we collect to operate and improve Lesson Beat, process lessons and scheduling, send notifications and reminders about lessons, facilitate communication between teachers and students, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
When a student books a lesson with a teacher, relevant contact information is shared between both parties to facilitate the lesson. We may share your information with service providers who assist us in operating the platform, such as email delivery services and hosting providers, under strict confidentiality agreements. We will disclose information when required by law.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Lesson Beat supports authentication via email and password, as well as third-party OAuth providers including Google and Facebook. When you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address. We do not receive or store your passwords for these services.
We take the privacy of students seriously, particularly minors. Teacher accounts may store contact information for students and their parents or guardians. This information is only accessible to the teacher associated with that student and is not shared with other teachers or users on the platform. Parents or guardians may request access to or deletion of their child's data by contacting us.
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You can control cookie settings through your browser, but disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the platform.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. You can update most of your information directly in your account settings. To request deletion of your account and associated data, please contact us at support@lessonbeat.com. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.
Lesson Beat integrates with third-party services including Supabase for data storage and authentication providers. These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of Lesson Beat after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your personal information, please contact us at support@lessonbeat.com. We take all privacy concerns seriously and will respond promptly.
